Morningstar Bistro is located
on Main Street in the quaint Village of Schroon Lake – One
block from the beautiful Schroon Lake Public Beach & Lakeside
Town Park. Myriam, the owner and her friend Tina will greet you
and invite you into this Adirondack-with-a-French-flair eatery.
The sandwiches are wholesome; the vegetables and salads always
very fresh and the dessert French Crepes always made to order.
The soups are unique. Espresso & Cappuccino are served. During
the summer, soft ice cream is also available. Outdoor seating
is provided during favorable weather.
The kitchen is an open space and you may peek while the girls
turn your crepes on the crepe maker that is imported from France,
Myriam’s home country: “The art of crepe making wasn’t
easy at first, but we practiced and made a lot of funny looking
creations before getting the hang of it”!
You may be familiar with the names on the menu. The sandwiches
are named after the old hotels that had once thrived in the Schroon
Lake of yesteryear. The salads are named after the youth camps
that used to dot the shores of Schroon Lake and Paradox Lake.
The history of Schroon Lake is present all around Morningstar,
from the old postcards mounted on the walls to the prominent
counter/coffee bar that was removed from the last Leland building
in the 1950’s before it was torn down.
The Bistro also features all kinds of gifts, which will be much
more abundant as time goes: Adirondack-style souvenirs, natural
soaps, candles, jewelry, jams, cards, gift baskets (that you
can create on your own), cuddly and whimsical Boyds Bears and
even some original art work from Myriam’s friend Anne Gregson.
Come and visit, you’ll enjoy this different experience! |
